ALDAR to Develop 7 Hotels on Yas Island

(WAM) ALDAR, one of Abu Dhabi’s leading property development companies, is to commission seven hotels on its Yas Island destination in time for the UAE capital’s hosting of the finale round of the 2009 Formula One Grand Prix this November.

There will be four 5 star properties, one 4 star property and two 3 star properties to be developed. This will boost Abu Dhabi’s accommodation inventory by 2,298 rooms and its food and beverage by 30 outlets, that includes the 20 individual restaurants.

ALDAR’s Chairman Ahmed Al Sayegh outlined this multi million dollar project. He pledged the company’s support for the Gourmet Abu Dhabi also which will be world class culinary event being held in the UAE capital next month.

Gourmet Abu Dhabi features 40 events including master classes, a food ‘&’ beverage forum and a gala dinner which will include the presentation of the inaugural Gourmet Abu Dhabi Stars awards.

Yas Island Scheduled to commence construction in two phases during 2007, Yas Island occupied a total land area of 2,500 hectares, of which 1,700 hectares will be claimed for development. The Island will feature attractions such as a world-class motor sports racetrack, signature hotels, the Ferrari theme park, water park, and the Abu Dhabi destination retail development of 300,000 sq m retail area, links and parkland golf courses, lagoon hotels, marinas, polo clubs, apartments, villas and numerous food & beverage outlets that will create a unique international tourist destination.
