Abu Dhabis Islam: Faith and Worship exhibition hosts number of lectures by scholars on Islam.

WAM Abu Dhabi, 24th Aug. 2009 (WAM) : The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is hosting a number of cultural events during the month of Ramadan as part of the art exhibition “Islam: Faith and Worship”, held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The cultural events, held on 8th – 14th of September 2009, include a number of lectures by specialist and scholars on Islam.

Organised by ADACH in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the exhibition, which ends on October 10th, 2009, includes nearly 150 works of art.

Some of the works of art are displayed for the first time, compiled from seven museums and national libraries in Turkey especially for the exhibition.

The exhibition includes many works that portray the emergence of Arab crafts through the ages, in addition to examples of the use of Arab calligraphy in decoration on metal surfaces, wood work, and weaving.

Miniature drawings and manuscripts are also displayed, dating back to Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman eras.

The themes include the biography of Prophet Muhammad, the emergence of Islam, elements of faith and worship in Islam, and many other issues.
