Arabian racing festival in France

Abu Dhabi, 30th Aug. 2009 The ongoing Festival of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for Arabian flat horse racing is a boost for Purebred a Arabian racing.

Dax racecourse in France will on Sunday witness the last and final race of the HH Sheikh Masnoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for Arabian flat horse racing.

Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the race at Dax, Mohammed Al Qubaisi , Director of Communications at ADACH, said after successfully hosting of three races in the series it has moved into Dax. “This success has been evident from the eagerness shown by the owners of Arabian horses in the world in general and Europe in particular , to vie for honours in Zayed the First Cup.

” It also drew the attention of the global media which led us to launch a special website featuring all these races to allow all fans and lovers of Arabian horses to watch it on.

The press briefing was also attended by Lara Sawaya, Director of the Festival, Martial Bousseuil, European manager for Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed’s Stables, and Jean-Loui Izeta Selimanjim, director of AFAC (French Arabian Horse Racing Association).

Sawaya expressed her gratitude to all those organizations , and individuals who have put in much effort in organizing the event so successfully . “I would like to extend our special thanks to AFAC and hosts Dax for their support to make the best of the festival of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan here today.

Sawaya added that the festival will be an annual affair.

Boisseuil said the Sunday’s race is a competitive one and it will be an interesting race.

It is part of preparation for the Saint Cludar Arabian breeders Cup in Paris in October.

The Festival, featuring four races, is aimed at promoting Purebred Arabians in European countries.

Dax is of the racehorses in France that has supported the Purebred Arabian horses and had welcomed Arabian horses.

The 174-year-old race horse hosts 15 race meetings out of the 106 races held in France.

As many as 11 horses have entered in the Prix Zayed Le Premier Cherri-Bibi and it promises to be an exciting racing event at Dax.

Seraphin Du Paon, owned by President His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Rahef owned by H. H. Sheikh Mansooor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs are among the favouriets.

The races are being held under the name ‘Zayed the First’ by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) in association with Breeding Stables of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Sorouh Real Estate, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, IAL Art Logestics and Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition are also supporting the race series.
