Concierge driven bookings in Q1 represent 9% of all Zuma reservations per night, an increase of around 4% since Q4 2010 which translates as approximately 60 covers a night. This underlines the importance of the tourism sector in the Emirate, and points towards increased trading from hotels and first time diners.
Ajaz Sheikh, Director of Operations for Zuma Middle East states, “It is interesting to note that concierge bookings are up in Q1, demonstrating the enduring stability of the UAE‘s tourism and hospitality sector at a time when countries in the region undergo a time of upheaval. We feel the sector to be poised on the brink of a ‘renaissance’, driven by the rebounding economic health of the UAE over all sectors, and predict increased tourism traffic as we move through Q2 2011.”
With March and April 2011 the busiest months on record, the team is predicting a very strong Q2 and Summer 2011, with growth for this period currently predicted at 15%.
Ajaz Sheikh, Director of Operations for Zuma Middle East comments, “Overall, Zuma has posted extremely positive financial results for Q1 2011. As a global brand and one of the first international restaurants in Dubai, Zuma looks forward to providing a blueprint for successful business and new openings in the Emirate.”
