Masswedding for Special people (Al Amal)

Dubai, 17 Jan, 2009 (WAM) – DP World the Global marine terminal operator is sponsoring the upcoming Al Amal Wedding for couples with special needs, which will be UAE’s biggest mass wedding.

Al AMal is an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the upcoming Al Amal wedding will be held on January 21st, 2009 to coincide with the Third Anniversary of Sheikh Mohammed’s Accession as Dubai’s Ruler.

Mr. Tariq Bin Khalifa, Commercial Director, DP World Dubai, said: “Al Amal Wedding is a symbol of Dubai’s care and concern for the less privileged members of society. Through our sponsorship, we express our commitment to the community which is home to our flagship terminal, Jebel Ali, strengthening the bond between the company and the society that it serves. The wedding has become a widely respected initiative and we are proud to be associated with it.” Eman Fares, Marketing and Communication Manager, Iqd Al Yasmen said: “We are grateful to DP World for its sponsorship of the wedding. We are aware that the company has always been keen to respond to the needs of the community. Al Amal Wedding highlights the importance of joint efforts and support for those who need a helping hand to embark on a new life . Being part of the initiative is in itself a noble act and we thank DP World for its contribution.” Organised by Dubai Club for Special Sports, the Arab Family Organisation and Iqd Al Yasmen, the Al Amal Wedding is a unique event in the region. It promotes social awareness about the need to provide equal opportunities for all and greater support to people with special needs. Over 100 couples with special needs are expected to take part in the wedding.
