ROME (Reuters) – Dubai will host the 2013 world aquatics championships, International Swimming Federation (FINA) president Mustapha Larfaoui said on Saturday.
The city in the United Arab Emirates beat off competition from Hamburg and Moscow. Larfaoui made the announcement at a news conference in Rome, where the 2009 championships are taking place.
The championships feature swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo and diving. The 2011 edition will take place in Shanghai, China.
