WAM Dubai, 12th Aug. 2009 (WAM) – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation today announced its efforts to promote the Dubai International Children’s Book Fair in the Far East achieved remarkable results with several publishers expressing keen interest to participate at the event in February 2010.
During its visit to the Hong Kong Book Fair, the Foundation met with a number of trade visitors and key exhibitors. In Singapore, the delegates held discussions with top officials from the National Library Board of Singapore and the Singapore Book Publishers Association.
Jamal Al Shehhi, CEO of Dubai International Children’s Book Fair, said: “The overwhelming interest demonstrated by publishers and other industry representatives in the Far East has boosted our confidence about the potential success of the Dubai International Children’s Book Fair as we move closer to the much awaited calendar event.

Dubai’s first dedicated children’s book fair is poised to grow into a top destination event and a major attraction for families and students.” The Dubai International Children’s Book Fair will draw the participation of publishers from all over the world, and host activities and programmes that cater to a range of target audiences, industry players, educational organizations and the general public. Offering an ideal platform for networking, the event will also offer an unique opportunity for exhibitors to exchange international rights, attend workshops and seminars, and merchandise their books to a unique amalgamation of book lovers.
