Product Description
Virtually every contemporary Western leader has expressed the view that Islam is a peaceful religion and that those who commit violence in its name are fanatics who misinterpret its tenets. This widely circulated claim is false.

Relying primarily on Islam’s own sources, Religion of Peace? Islam’s War Against the World demonstrates that Islam is a violent, expansionary ideology that seeks the subjugation and destruction of other faiths, cultures, and systems of government. Further, it shows that the jihadis that Westerners have been indoctrinated to believe are extremists, are actually in the mainstream.

“A fascinating thesis.” – William F. Buckley Jr. Founder, National Review

“A valuable, well-argued contribution to the public understanding of Islam…it manages to convey in a short space what the West needs to know about Islam: that its violent aspects are not the result of deviance but of orthodoxy”‘ – Robert Spencer, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and The Crusades)

“A very important work at a very important time. Anyone interested in understanding the growing violence on the world scene today must read this book. Its message for America and the West is, `Wake up before it’s too late.'” – Gary Bauer, President, American Values

“This book provides a timely reality check to those still inclined to believe in the dichotomy between a “real” Islam and its allegedly aberrant violent fringe. That delusion costs lives and threatens the very existence of those affected by it. The refusal of the elite class to open its eyes to reality and protect Western nations from the threat is the biggest betrayal in history. It reflects a problem of cultural and spiritual decay that is the synthesis of all others.” – Serge Trifkovic,The Sword of the Prophet and Defeating Jihad

  1. This book has some truth to it, but not enough. Every Islamic event is looked at in a negative light. He makes it sound as if every Muslim in the world is evil. This is absolutely not true. This is a phase that Islam is going through and it wont go on forever, unless the U.S. goes on forever occupying Iraq, supplying Israel with everything it needs to oppress the people, and sending their porno video’s to the Middle East. In that case, it may not end. The reason why people keep convering to Islam is because they find peace in it, whereas in Christianity, there is no real peace because there are ingredients missing in it.

This decade does appear to be a dark chapter in the history of Islam. People are blowing themselves up in suicide bombings and killing innocent people, cutting the throats of what appears to be innocent reporters, and even stabbing Nuns in their backs. All these actions are reportedly done by Muslims. The question is, Do there actions go hand in hand with what Islam teaches? To find out, go to the Quran.

The author ensures that we read the so called violent verses in the Quran before we read anything else. He brings us the infamous 9:5 verse, “and slay them wherever you find them, and seize them”. Yet he does not comment on the end of the verse which says ,” but if they repent and establish prayers, then open the door of forgiveness.” If Islam is such a violent religion, why is there even a door for mercy? Ofcourse he fails to mention verse 5:32 which says “If anyone kills a person, unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed a whole nation of people, and if he saves someone, it’s as if he saved all of mankind.” Not only does God forbid the killing of innocent people, he gives blessings to those who are doctors and saving people when they are on the verge of dying.

The author says that Muslims are supposed to offer non-Muslims an ‘opportunity’ to embrace Islam. If they refuse, Muslim thought is that they have committed aggression against Allah and Islam. Really? Then why does verse 2:256 say, “There is no compulsion in religion.”

And 18:29 “Whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve.” This is rock solid proof that the correct form of Islam is not to force anyone nor to conquer anyone with the pretext of Islam. Muslims are like UPS or FedEx, we deliver the package, you decide whether or not you want to pick it up. The only time we are allowed to fight is when our lives are threatened. “To those whom war is made against them, permission is given to fight” 22:41 The holy Prophet and the Muslims were abused for 15 years before they took up a sword, and this was only done when the Makkans declared that they would completely annihilate the Muslims. Would any man in his right mind call the Jews in WWII Germany violent if they attempted to fight back against the Nazls. The Muslims were given divine guidance on how to fight their enemey, and part of that was when to make a treaty or what to do if they break their covenant or what to do when victorious and with the spoils of war. These commands were from God like the US army has commands from its leaders.

If you really want to know some things about Islam, I highly recommend Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources by Martin Lings and Taking Back Islam by Micheal Wolfe. These books were written by former Christians and they know how to explain things better than G Davis.

  2. This book is absolutely ridiculous. Instead of truly investigating this subject, this guy merely states his own personal prejudice. Don’t waste your time with this book.

  3. I was blown away by Davis’ description of Islam. He claims to describe Islam based on its roots in the Quran and Hadith. This is problematic in the first place because it presents Islam, a diverse and multi-faceted religion, as monolithic. However, despite his claim, in fact he spends considerable time giving a one-sided view of the practice of Islam in history and modern times, neglecting to treat historical and modern interpretations of Islam that are not violent or to give a comprehensive picture of certain practices, e.g. the dhimma system. His treatment of the Quran, meanwhile, relies on a selective understanding of abrogation as well as on verses taken completely out of context. As for Hadith, he ignores debates about Hadith transmission and, more importantly, presents an incomplete view of Mohammed’s campaigns in order to portray Mohammed as a war monger. The book is full of inaccuracies and sensationalism, resulting in grossly irresponsible writing that only promotes ignorance, intolerance, and racism.

  4. This book is an eye opener. There will be a before and after in my life regarding having read this book. I was just not aware of the peril that Islam represents to our Christian-Western civilization. The author does a great job explaining why Islam is not a peaceful religion, in fact, Islam is as much a political system as it is a religion. Politically, Islam is bent on world domination as much as Fascism and Communism once did. If you are not already planning to become a Muslim, ignore this book at your own risk.

  5. I’m currently reading the Kindle version and find it will written and interesting. However when the Table of Contents concludes with this parenthetical statement:

“(PLEASE NOTE: The final book will have appendices, a glossary, and an index.)”

Then why does this publisher, World Ahead Publishing, allow this? Furthermore, when do they plan on publishing and printing the final version since the copyright is 2006? This is true for both the hardcover and the Kindle versions.

Fortunately there at least is a modicum of Notes in the rear of the book. However do not let this keep you from purchasing it, since the author (at this point in my reading) seems knowledgeable and anticipates the questions that arise from my mind playing devil’s advocate. I hope it continues to be as good to the end. Please note: my final review will have an appendix to verify my opinions stated at the moment.
