Eating options in Dubai during day time in Ramadan

Public Eating and drink is not permited during the month of Ramadan in UAE. If you happen to be in Dubai During Ramadan you need not worry much for there are plenty of restaurants that respectfully open to serve non-Muslims during Ramadan.

Oud Metha to Deira
Bistro Madeleine: Heartwarming French food with great service.
InterContinental, Festival City (04 701 1111). Open daily 6am-11.30pm

Café Arabesque: Luxurious Levantine spot.

Park Hyatt Dubai, Deira (04 317 2222). Open daily 6.30am-midnight

Casa Mia: Classic Italian with a great cellar.

Le Méridien Dubai, Garhoud (04 217 0000). Open daily 12.30pm-3.45pm, 7.30pm-11.30pm

Epicure: Fantastic international café.

Desert Palm, Al Awir Road (04 602 9333). Open daily 7am-10.30pm

Kisaku: Tasty mid-range Japanese food.

Al Khaleej Palace Hotel, Deira (04 223 1000). Open daily 12.30pm-2.45pm, 6.30pm-11pm

Market Café: A lovely deli spot.

Grand Hyatt, Oud Metha (04 317 2222). Open daily 6am-midnight

Planet Hollywood: Munch on burgers while checking out Hollywood memorabilia.

Wafi, Oud Metha (04 324 7777). Open daily noon-midnight

Also open at Wafi: Asha’s for homely Indian food; Medzo for highly recommended Italian, and Mahi Mahi for
lovely fresh seafood (04 324 7777).

Sukhothai: An ideal lunching option if you love traditional Thai cuisine.

Le Méridien Dubai, Garhoud (04 217 0000). Open for lunch daily

Wox: Mid-priced noodles and similar: we love the broth of the noodle soup.

Grand Hyatt, Oud Metha (04 317 2222). Open daily noon-midnight

Delivery and takeaway only: Sumo Sushi in Garhoud, for simple Japanese fare (04 283 0622).

Downtown Burj Khalifa to Satwa

Ewaan: Mid-range Arabic staples.

The Palace Hotel, Downtown Burj Khalifa (04 428 7888). Open daily 6pm-2am

Cactus Cantina: For classic Mexican grub in the heart of bustling Satwa.

Rydges Plaza, Satwa (04 398 2274). Open daily noon-1am

Café Sushi: A posh conveyer-belt sushi joint.

The Fairmont, Sheikh Zayed Road (04 311 8316). Open daily noon-11pm

Gourmet Burger Kitchen: Dubai’s favourite burger joint will be offering its addictive staples.

DIFC (04 363 7401). Open daily 9am-10pm

Mediterraneo: Armani’s more casual option – it’s still pretty swanky, though.

Armani Hotel, Downtown Burj Khalifa (04 888 3888). Open daily 7am-11am, 12.30pm-2.30pm, 6pm-2am

Mercurries: An Indian lunchtime spot.

DIFC (04 370 0737). Open daily 9am-9pm.

More Café: This stalwart cafe is perfect for lazy, leisurely lunches.

Al Murooj Rotana (04 343 3779). Open daily 9am-7pm

Wagamama: This Asian eatery will be offering a Ramadan set menu. The door will be closed during the day,
but the restaurant is still open if you want to eat in.

Crowne Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road (04 305 6060). Open daily noon-midnight

Zuma: High-end Japanese cuisine in sleek, chic surroundings.

Gate Village, DIFC (04 425 5660). Open daily for lunch 12.30pm-2.45pm

Delivery and takeaway only:
Johnny Rockets on Sheikh Zayed Road for milkshakes and burgers (04 325 1411); Noodle Bowl in Satwa for cheap-and-cheerful Asian (04 345 3381); Marzano at Souk Al Manzil for delicious pizzas (04 420 1136); and Bento Ya on Sheikh Zayed Road for wholesome Japanese food (04 343 0222).
Jumeirah to Dubai Marina
Bussola: Classy beachside Italian; though unfortunately the cheaper pizza terrace is closed.
The Westin, Al Sufouh Road (04 399 4141). Open daily noon-2.45pm, 7pm-10.45pm
Certo: Mid-priced Italian spot that’s frequented by Italians (always a good sign).
Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City (04 366 9111). Open daily noon-3.30pm, 7pm-11.30pm
Karam Beirut: Delicious Lebanese food à la carte.
Mall of the Emirates, Barsha (04 341 2202). Open daily noon-5pm, iftar-midnight
Noodle House: Satisfy your noodle cravings at this popular Madinat venue.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah (04 366 6730). Open daily 12.30pm-midnight
Sezzam: An international smorgasbord of tasty, well-priced dishes: expect everything from dim sum to pizza.
Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates (04 341 3600). Open daily noon-11.30pm
Toscana: Wide selection of traditional Italian food that’s solid and reliable.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah (04 366 6730). Open daily 12.30pm-midnight
Wagamama: Quick, fast and fresh Asian specialities (we love the chicken katsu curry).
Al Fattan Towers, Dubai Marina (04 399 5900). Open daily noon-midnight
Zheng He’s: Offering fantastic but expensive Chinese dishes.
Mina A’Salam, Al Sufouh Road (04 366 6730). Open daily 12.30pm-3pm, 7pm-11.30pm
Delivery and takeaway only: Circle Café in Media City for scrummy bagels and cakes (04 391 5170); Gourmet Burger Kitchen at Marina Mall for massive burgers (04 399 7705); and Da Shi Dai at JBR for quality Chinese takeaways (04 426 4636).
