AJMAN, 16th April, 2017 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has said that Emiratis providing assistance to the underprivileged, both within and outside the country, remain the best role models in the field of charitable work.
He also hailed the role played by philanthropic organisations, associations, entities and businesspersons in supporting charitable work, especially by supporting orphans and helping them communicate and interact in society. This support has contributed towards engaging orphans as effective members of society, who are part of the homeland and its prudent leadership, he added.
The remarks were made at the opening ceremony of the second Ajman Orphans Festival held at the Ajman Youth Center of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare.
The Ajman Ruler also commended the wise leadership’s support for orphans through its establishment of popular institutions that patronize and provide them with services they need.
H.H. Sheikh Humaid also hailed the attention given to orphans by the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the Supreme Council Members, Their Highness’s the Rulers of the Emirates.
The teachings of Islam urge people to support and provide a dignified life, and psychological and social stability to orphans, he noted.
The Ajman Ruler received a gift in recognition of his support for charitable organisations, and his keenness to support charitable works in society, especially those for orphans.
Several Sheikhs, senior officials, more than 200 orphans and their families participated in activities during the event.
