RIYADH, 11th October, 2016 (WAM) — The UAE has attended a meeting of the GCC Under-Secretaries in charge of tourism in Riyadh in preparation for the 3rd meeting of GCC tourism ministers set to be held on Wednesday.

The UAE delegation was headed by Mohammed Khamis Al Muhairi, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, and Saeed Al Semahi, Director-General of the Fujairah Tourism and Antiquities Authority, along with a number of officials.

The preparatory meeting discussed ways of developing the tourism sector in the GCC member countries and achieving the pre-set strategic goals. It also touched on the elaboration of a joint strategy to develop the tourism sector and boost its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product in GCC member states.
